TAP Flight Pass Terms and Conditions
The terms and conditions below ("Terms and Conditions") apply to a new feature, TAP Flight Pass, which allows all passengers to buy a travel package, from 4 to 100 trips, for flights within Portugal or between Portugal and other destinations in Europe and North Africa.

The customers that buy a TAP Flight Pass, agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Transportes Aéreos Portugueses, S.A., trading as "TAP Air Portugal", reserves the right to modify or make any changes to these Terms and Conditions, as it deems necessary. The customer should consult the document in force at the time of submitting his/her bid. The English version of the Terms and Conditions shall prevail over the other versions (translations).

TAP Air Portugal General Conditions of Carriage will govern the ticketed booking, all the Fare conditions and our regulations, itinerary and receipt.

The TAP Flight Pass Service is administered by Optiontown Ireland Limited, an Ireland limited liability company ("OT", d/b/a Optiontown) having its registered address at Mespil Business Center, Mespil House, Sussex Road, Dublin 4, Ireland, along with Optiontown, Inc., a Massachusetts Corporation, having its mailing address at PO BOX 42 Walpole, MA 02032, USA (both jointly referred to as "OT") on behalf of TAP Air Portugal, Transportes Aéreos Portugueses, S.A.

Please note that these TAP Flight Pass Terms, together with the Optiontown Terms of Service constitute the entire agreement between the Customer, Optiontown and TAP Air Portugal. In the event of any contradiction between the Optiontown Terms of Service and these TAP Flight Pass Terms, these TAP Flight Pass Terms shall prevail.


"Advance Booking" refers to the minimum number of days that reservation must be made, before travel date.
"Cabin" refers to the travel class, e.g. Economy Class or Business Class.
"Customer" refers to one or more persons that travel on TAP Air Portugal and who have signed for OT Service - TAP Flight Pass.
"Flight Confirmation" refers to the deadline before departure date, when Optiontown will confirm the final selected Flight and notify the Customer based on pre-selected Flights.
"TAP Flight Pass" refers to the pass provided by Optiontown under the FPo Service to its Customers which makes them eligible to book TAP Air Portugal Flights falling under criteria mentioned in these FP terms and conditions.
"Flight" or "Flights" refers to marketing and operated TAP Air Portugal (TP/WI/NI) flights.
"FP Service" refers to TAP Flight Pass, the service being facilitated by Optiontown on behalf of TAP Air Portugal.
"Number of Flights" refers to the total number of Flight Credits included in the Pass.
"Optiontown" refers to the brand name and "" refers to the domain name and website of OT.
"OT Services" comprises of the various services offered by OT, wherein each such service is in general referred to as "OT Service". TAP Flight Pass Service or TAP Flight Pass or FP Service or FP is the OT Service for TAP Flight Pass product.
"Passenger(s)" refers to the total number of distinct passengers who can use the Flight Credits. Choose more passengers in order to provide TAP Flight Pass to be accessible to more people.
"Travel Period" refers to the Time Period in which passengers can book Flights and use Flight Credits from their TAP Flight Pass.
"Travel Zone" or "Zone" defines the set of all destinations where passengers can fly to/from by using the TAP Flight Pass. This includes all flights operated by the airline inside Portugal (domestic) or between Portugal and Europe or North Africa. A customer will select a Travel Zone that covers all the destinations he/she desires to travel to/from. It might be a city pair (only between two cities) or between Portugal and other country.

1.The Purchase of TAP Flight Pass and subsequent exchange of bookings for ticket issuances can only be done through the or website. The customers will NOT be able to make changes on their TAP Flight Pass or to their associated tickets, through, TAP Air Portugal Contact Center or any ticket counter.
2.Upon completion of the TAP Flight Pass purchase, the customer will:
a.Be able to book and travel to the selected 'Travel Zone' within the 'Validity' of the TAP Flight Pass, according to the customized features;
b.Agree that a one way booking will consume 1 Flight Credit at a time per passenger. For a round trip travel, each passenger will consume 2 Flight Credits at a time. However, each Flight must be booked separately, and each reservation must have only one flight. Travelling to certain destinations may require a return ticket. So, the passenger is requested to check the travel requirements of the country he/she is travelling to. If a return ticket is required for travel to a country, the passenger must ensure that has a valid return ticket and also valid travel documents for example visa. No claim will be accepted for any denial to enter into a country due to no return ticket or invalid/insufficient travel documents or due to invalid visa etc.;
c.Be able to add new passengers within the period of 24h after purchase, until the maximum limit of Eligible Travelers is reached;
d.NOT be able to edit the NAMEs and DATEs OF BIRTH of the added passengers.
e.NOT be able to change the TAP Flight Pass parameters (Fare Type, Cabin and Travel Zone) that were selected at the purchase moment;
f.Be able to add Special Service Requests (SSRs) to the flight booked, such as disability assistance, at;
3.Customer agrees and understands that the real time price may be lower or higher than the regular price displayed, hence the savings may be more or less than the displayed amount. Customer agrees and confirms unconditionally that he/she has taken the informed decision with the clear understanding and knowledge of the above. Customer irrevocably and unconditionally agrees that will not hold TAP Air Portugal responsible in any manner whatsoever for any difference in regular prices and/or savings displayed and cannot cancel the TAP Air Portugal or OT Services due to this.
4.Flights booked with TAP Flight Pass are subject to seat availability in the booking class allowed for the chosen Advance Booking, as given below. For example, if customer purchased 7 Days advance booking for a TAP Flight Pass for Economy, then customer can book a flight subject to seat availability in S class of that flight. If customer purchase 14 Days advance booking for a TAP Flight Pass for Business, he/she can book a flight subject to seat availability in Z booking class in that flight.

Seat Availability Booking Class based on Advance Booking:

if your intended flight does not have seats available in your TAP Flight Pass booking class, that flight will not appear on the flight offer, even if it has availability in other booking classes within the same cabin.
In order to access to the last available seat in the cabin for which you purchased your TAP Flight Pass, you must purchase a Pass with 3 days, 1 day or 4 hours of advance booking. The shorter the time of advance booking acquired, the less availability restrictions you will have.
5.Special Conditions for Unlimited Flight Pass
a.Unlimited Bookings - Unlimited Flight Pass allows unlimited number of flight bookings.
b.Advance Booking - 3 days before departure.
c.Seat Availability for Flight Booking - Flight booking is allowed till last seat available in the cabin, economy (Y booking class) and Business (C booking class).
d.FREE Flight Changes - Flight change is allowed free of cost at any time up to 1 hour before departure, however, the new flight must satisfy the advance booking condition of the Flight Pass.
e.FREE Flight Cancellation - Flight cancellation is allowed free of cost at any time up to 1 hour before departure.
f.No changes are allowed to the Unlimited Flight Pass after the purchase.
g.Unlimited Flight Pass is non-refundable and non-cancellable.
6.TAP Flight Pass price includes the base fare, taxes and fees for all the Flights purchased, excluding any surcharge that may be levied by Optiontown, like a service fee or credit card fee. Service fees may apply for changes to the purchased TAP Flight Pass or for changes to the bookings that were made. However, in the event of a change of taxes and fees charged by the government and/or third parties in the period, between the purchase of the TAP Flight Pass and the actual flight booking, additional taxes may apply.
7.TAP Flight Pass prices may vary across different Customers whether booked on the same flight and having the same parameters.
8.The invoicing for the purchase of the TAP Flight Pass will be the responsibility of TAP and Optiontown, and each company will be responsible for sending the invoice corresponding to the amount received by the costumer. In practice, the costumer will receive two invoices: one from TAP and another from Optiontown.
9.Mobility Subsidy - To qualify for the Mobility Subsidy you may purchase a bidirectional TAP Flight Pass exclusively between a single city on the Islands and a single city on the Mainland for one or more passengers, provided that they all comply with all requirements for the Mobility Subsidy. It will not be possible to apply for this subsidy in the purchase of a TAP Flight Pass for several passengers, if some of which meet the requirements and others do not.
Since there will be a single invoice representing all the Flight Coupons purchased, plus a receipt issued by Optiontown, there will be no room for an individual invoice associated with each ticket. To request the Mobility Subsidy from CTT, you must send an e-mail to asking for proof of each ticket issued and flown from your TAP Flight Pass. You must collect the two invoices, the proof of the ticket and the boarding pass and present the documents for each ticket, that is, each time you apply for the Subsidy. The deadline for submitting documentation is the usual deadline, with no exceptions because it's a TAP Flight Pass.
10.If the Customer wishes to add any Extra Services (such as extra baggage, lounge access, Fast Track/Greenway, or any other special service), he/she must contact TAP Air Portugal directly via or over the phone at the Contact Center for TAP Air Portugal. Please note TAP Air Portugal may levy an additional charge for these Services as per regular TAP Air Portugal policy (it depends on which type of Branded Fare was acquired at the purchase).
11.Customer can earn miles according to the Brand policy of TAP Air Portugal. TAP Miles & Go miles can only be earned for the passenger who actually uses the ticket and the miles credited vary according to the brand fare used (Basic, Classic or Plus for Economy Class and Executive or TOP Executive for Business Class).
12.TAP Flight Pass price is NON-cancellable and NON-refundable. NO refund shall be granted, even if Customer fails to use all Flight Credits acquired. No portion of the total TAP Flight Pass price will be refunded in case of any unused Flight credits.
13.Once a Flight Credit is redeemed from a TAP Flight Pass Account and a ticket is issued, these tickets are NON refundable. All TAP Flight Pass fares allows to cancel these tickets and its Credits will return into TAP Flight Pass Account, but no money will be refunded. In all circumstances the TAP Flight Pass remains Non-refundable.
14.No-shows are not permitted. In case of no show, tickets are non-refundable and no value will be credited back onto the TAP Flight Pass account.
15.TAP Flight Pass is only available to be used by adults and children over 2 years of age. It is possible to add infants after the booking is created under TAP Flight Pass conditions, by paying the appropriate fares, fees and taxes which may be levied at TAP Air Portugal. Children discounts are not applicable. Children under 12 years of age must always travel accompanied by at least one adult who should be included in the same TAP Flight Pass. The "Unaccompanied Minor" service under the TAP Flight Pass is not allowed.
16.TAP Flight Pass is NOT transferable, and cannot be sold or exchanged for cash. The Journey entitled under a TAP Flight Pass cannot be exchanged, unless if TAP Air Portugal decides to.
17.Specific policies and rules, if applicable to TAP Air Portugal, will be displayed under the TAP Flight Pass Terms and Conditions and would accordingly be applicable to the Customers.
18.With TAP Flight Passes all fares allows changes. For the Discount; Basic and Executive Fare Types, the flight date and time can be changed before departure of the flight, upon payment of a penalty per passenger (please see the table below with the penalty amounts)*. There is also an administrative fee that is charged by Optiontown, for every payment transaction and might also exists an additional surcharge if you pay by credit card.

*Please note that new flights must fulfill all the conditions of the purchased TAP Flight Pass and as a result, no fare difference will be assessed.
a.    The Flight Changes can only be done online by logging to your TAP Flight Pass account.
b.    Name Correction - It is only possible to correct a maximum of 3 characters in the name item. Please make sure that the name on the TAP Flight Pass matches the passenger's Passport (First Name and Surname) details.
19.TAP Flight Passes Classic, Plus and TOP Executive allow changes without penalty, since all the TAP Flight Pass conditions still be accomplished. Otherwise, a difference to the new conditions (if permitted) will apply.

No-show and refund are not allowed for any Flight Pass.
20.The TAP Flight Pass is a TAP Air Portugal product that is commercialized in collaboration with Optiontown. All payments are made directly to Optiontown. Customers will agree that they cannot challenge or dispute a charge if the name appearing on their credit card statement is different than the one mentioned above.
21.To the extent permissible by local law or regulation, these TAP Flight Pass Terms and Conditions shall be governed in accordance with the Portuguese law. TAP Air Portugal and each Customer submits to the NON-exclusive jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts to resolve any disputes that may arise out of them.
22.If any provision of these TAP Flight Pass Terms are declared void or unenforceable by any competent authority or court shall, to the extent of such invalidity or unenforceability, be deemed severable and shall not affect the other provisions remaining which shall continue unaffected.
23.TAP Air Portugal accepts no responsibility for damage or loss resulting from misdirected or incomplete entries arising from computer malfunctions, viruses, bugs or other such causes. TAP Air Portugal is in no way liable for the reproduction or indirect access via third party web site or home page access which reproduction misstates or omits any of the information or terms and conditions connected with the TAP Flight Pass.
24.TAP Air Portugal reserves the right to change these TAP Flight Pass Terms and Conditions at any time.
